  3. To log out after using the machine, Press "Other Function" found on the left side of the printer LCD display and click on logout.
  4. Print Jobs will be automatically deleted if left uncollected for more than 2 hrs.
  5. Accidental print jobs can be deleted at the printer.

Why do we need to log in at the printer?

We understand that this is not as convenient as before but this arrangement is necessary for the following reasons:

  • There have been incidents of print jobs containing confidential information being left uncollected at the printer. This puts the college at risk when confidential information is obtained by unauthorised personnel.
  • There have been a lot of uncollected prints in the past, users either print and forget or print to the wrong printer. The system will now only print those jobs that you collect.
  • The system supports collection of print job from any of the printers, with the exception of colour print jobs that should only be collected at the colour printers. With this system, print jobs will never be lost because it has been printed to the another printer located elsewhere.
  • This system allows accidental print jobs to be removed at printer.
  • Maybe we will now be encouraged to print less...
